Message from the Provost...
The fundamental mission of the Office of the Provost is
to nurture and empower the academic heart and soul of the
University, to set the tone for its intellectual life and
vitality, to foster the integral well-being of its students,
staff and faculty, to marshal and allocate resources in
support of academic excellence, to inculcate conscience,
compassion and competence, and, in so doing, to strengthen
the educational foundations of the University for the
ultimate benefit of the individual learner, the community,
the nation, and the world.
A young University of standing, founded in 2006, the
University of Atlanta sustains an unwavering commitment to
inviolable priorities. To that end we seek:
- To constitute a student-focused center of professional,
collaborative and scholarly excellence.
- To offer a readily accessible and inspiriting educational
opportunity to all who qualify -- without borders,
without boundaries.
- To affirm our dedication to, and support of, those who
quest an enhanced personal and professional life for
themselves, their families and their fellow citizens.
- To encourage and facilitate creative partnerships — with
business, with industry, with educational institutions and
with global constituencies.
- To rank among those institutions at the forefront of
moral, ethical, social, professional and economic leadership
focused on the future.
- To foster an understanding of international issues and a
sensitivity to, and respect for, cultural and individual
difference. And ultimately…
- To embrace the vitality and daring that accompany the
risks and the joys of grounded innovation.
As a consequence of our diversity and cross-national
emphases, we stand as an enriched, value-added repository for
expanded learning, wherein broad perspectives and
multi-cultural exchange flourish. We want you, our students,
to develop a sense of belonging. We want you to be the
ultimate beneficiaries of a veritable passion for inquiry
and exploration.
Finally, we do not underestimate, nor shall we ever
minimize, the indispensability of a symbiotic relationship between the
University and its students. We value and hold dear the
potent synergy that such strong bonds obtain.
